Will it block real customer messages?
FormSentry uses multiple checks to tell spam from real messages. In rare cases where something's borderline, you can review it in your dashboard and adjust your settings. You can also add specific emails to your allow list so they always get through.

Does it work with my theme?
FormSentry works automatically with Shopify's built-in contact forms, blog comment forms, and forms built with the Shopify Forms app. No theme code changes needed. Just enable the app embed in your theme editor and you're set.

What happens when I hit my submission limit?
When you reach your plan's monthly limit, new submissions still come through to you. They just won't be checked for spam. Upgrade anytime if you need more capacity.

Does it use CAPTCHAs?
No. FormSentry works entirely in the background. Your customers won't see anything different about your forms, and they won't have to solve puzzles to talk to you.

Do I still need Shopify's built-in hCaptcha?
Yes — keep it on. hCaptcha is good at stopping basic automated bots, and FormSentry catches the smarter spam that slips past it: AI-generated messages, human-sounding pitches, and repeat offenders. They cover different ground, and running both gives your forms the strongest protection.

Can I allowlist my own domains or staff emails?
Yes. You can add specific emails, entire domains (e.g. *@yourcompany.com), and IP addresses to your allow list so they always bypass spam checks. Block lists work the same way.

Is FormSentry GDPR-friendly?
Yes. FormSentry only processes data that customers already submit through your forms — it doesn't collect anything extra. Submissions are stored securely, only accessible from your Shopify admin, and automatically deleted after your plan's retention period. No data is sold or shared with third parties.

Does FormSentry use cookies or browser fingerprinting?
No. FormSentry doesn't set any cookies and doesn't fingerprint your visitors. It analyzes form submissions using server-side checks like content analysis, rate limiting, and reputation lookups. Your customers' browsing isn't tracked in any way.
