Setting Up FormSentry in 60 Seconds

FormSentry might be the easiest spam protection you’ve ever set up. Here’s the full process.

Step 1: Install the App

Find FormSentry in the Shopify App Store and click Install. Approve the permissions. We only ask for what we need to monitor form submissions and display your dashboard.

Step 2: Enable the App Embed

After installation, go to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store → Themes → Customize). In the App Embeds section, toggle FormSentry on. This adds our lightweight monitoring script to your storefront.

That’s it. You’re protected.

Step 3 (Optional): Adjust Settings

FormSentry works great with default settings, but if you want to fine-tune things:

• Sensitivity: The default “Balanced” mode catches 99% of spam with near-zero false positives. Switch to “Aggressive” if you’re under heavy attack, or “Relaxed” if you want maximum reach.
• Block list: Add specific email addresses, domains, or IP addresses that you want to always block.
• Allow list: Add trusted contacts that should always get through, regardless of spam score.

What Happens Next

Once enabled, FormSentry automatically monitors submissions to your contact form and blog comment forms. You’ll see results in your dashboard within minutes of your first submission. Spam gets blocked, real messages get through, and you can review everything from your Shopify admin.

No Theme Code Changes

FormSentry works with any Shopify theme. The app embed approach means we don’t modify your theme files. If you ever uninstall, your theme goes back to exactly how it was.
